RACHAEL DEWITT
Rachael DeWitt is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.) specializing in child / adolescent and family therapy. Racheal’s
experience includes work as a school social worker, where she has
counseled students with disabilities, including learning disabilties,
mental impairment, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder, autism
spectrum disorders, behavioral difficulties and emotional disorders. She
frequently works with children and adolescents on issues such as anger
management, social skill development and coping skills for dealing with
anxiety, depression and areas of disability. Rachel also works with
parents and teachers and does group therapy.
Believing
that families are under attack and are often not the source of strength
and security that God intended them to be, Rachael seeks to strengthen
families in order to build healthy environments in which children
and adolescents can develop and thrive.
She is especially focused on helping families in confict due
to diagnoses of learning and emotional/behavioral disorders, as well
as issues related to single-parent households, blended families and
adoption.
Rachael
holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from the Jane Addams College
of Social Work at the University of Illinois-Chicago, and a Bachelors
Degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW)
and the Illinois Association of School Social Workers (IASSW).
Rachael and her husband Peter were married in July of 1998.
