STEVE GLEDHILL
ALCOHOL & OTHER DRUG ABUSE COUNSELOR
Steve Gledhill is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) specializing in a faith-based approach to treating men and women with issues related to the abuse and dependence of alcohol and other drugs. Steve has over ten years of counseling experience. He has counseled individuals and couples and has treated adults that are dually diagnosed with substance abuse dependence and mental health disorders, as well as those diagnosed with developmental disabilities and personality and behavior disorders. Steve has over two years experience as a trained Crisis Intervention Specialist counseling adults and children in emergency settings such as hospitals, police stations, city lock-ups and state-funded foster homes.
Steve believes that addiction is a spiritual issue that requires a spiritual solution. He has developed a program of recovery from alcohol and drug abuse and dependence based on twelve-step principles. His treatment program centers on the powerlessness of addiction; and the power of God as the authentic source of hope and strength to face each day clean and sober, free from the destructive hold of addiction.
Steve has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Judson College (1984) and was certified as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) by the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Counselors Association (IAODAPCA) in 2005. Steve and his wife, Cindy, were married in 1997 and have three children.
