The Path to Recovery at Heritage Counseling Center, Inc.

The Intensive Outpatient program at Heritage Counseling Center, Inc. (HCC) is designed to be effective and straightforward. The path follows these steps:

Assessment
The first step is simply to call. A skilled counselor will help you schedule an appointment for a comprehensive Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA) Assessment. This will help you and your counselor understand the degree of your alcohol or other drug usage and what your next step should be. Treatment recommendations are made according to findings from the AODA assessment and criteria outlined by the Illinois Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse.

A treatment plan is then designed to address the problem identified from the assessment that will move each individual towards recovery. One can then move one step closer to recovery by beginning the treatment phase in the Intensive Outpatient Program.

Treatment
The majority of one's treatment will be in a group setting with the addition of some individual and family counseling as needed. Every session will provide a combination of education, emotional and spiritual process, support and accountability.

Recovery skills based on a Biblical approach to 12-Step principles will be taught. Specifically the first three steps will be completed during the Intensive Outpatient Program.

The whole family is treated here at HCC. Addictions effects the entire family system. If you are a spouse or child, you can be sure you will find avenues of help also.

Aftercare
Upon completion of intensive outpatient treatment, every graduate will be offered the opportunity to develop and participate in an aftercare group.

HCC is committed to being an excellent treatment partner with you and your family. The goal is that each person be empowered to achieve abstinence from alcohol and other drug use through a Christ-centered plan of recovery.
